I didn't quite get the fascination some rock artists had with bandits, outlaws etc in the 70s. This is a song about such a creature. Slade were not alone, even Paul McCartney wrote such a song, "Magneto and Titanium Man", Styx "Renegade", etc.
At any rate, this is from Whatever Happened to Slade, the 77 album in which the band tried to go back to its roots. The whole album has a "bad boy" feeling to it.
The song made it as a single.
